Nerea Alvarez, Chief Heart Officer and Founder of HR-in-a-Heart, boasts 25+ years of experience driving People and Communications strategies for companies like Microsoft, AT&T, IBM, M&M Mars, P&G, Baptist Health and top global agencies such as WPP's Grey and Burson, Newlink, Boden, RepublicaHavas, Simplicity, The Jeffrey Group and many more.

Nerea's stellar career includes a 15+ year tenure as HR & Organizational Development SVP at Newlink. Her journey has been marked by brilliant achievements: from leading diversity communications at Microsoft; to spearheading technology and media practices at Burson Latin America as well as creating the first US Hispanic communications division at Grey.

A seasoned career coach and expert in the human dimension of business, Nerea excels at motivating and aligning employees and leaders, driving transformation, and delivering tangible business results. Her experience encompasses employee engagement, restructurings, organizational strategy development, employee experience design and communications.

Nerea's education includes a master's degree from New York University, a bachelors from Berea College, and a Professional Coaching Certification from the University of Miami. A member of Society of Human Resources Management, she is also the co-founder of  Jackson Memorial Hospital's IKF Wonderfund.
